Chymaera
Had an assignment to make a mix between two animals, so I decided to mix a nautilus with a zebra as they had similar striped patterns on their bodies, and I thought it could make a nice mixture as a result.
Started out with body studies of zebras and nautilus, figuring out the curves and simple shape constructions with them.
Made some body studies with basic shapes, mixing the head of the nautilus with the body of the zebra.
Skeleton and basic shape constructions.
Testing out volume and poses for the chymaera.
Reworked one of the poses and added muscle placements on it.
Colored turnaround, for the colors I decided to stick to the colors of the nautilus rather than the zebra as they were more vibrant and had more variations, giving it a bit of an alien feel.
